Improving Health and Transforming Smiles, One Person at a Time
Dentistry is a remarkable way to meet people and build relationships.
It has been a pleasure to serve my hometown of Edmonton for 30 years, and to offer custom dental solutions that help patients improve their oral health and overall wellness.
No two patients are alike: Each person has unique clinical needs, as well as personal concerns and desires. It is my responsibility to understand what each person is seeking and to design a treatment approach that works for their situation. I emphasize lasting results, not quick fixes, and look to improve each person’s oral health and function.
The process of learning what my patient needs requires us to talk openly and honestly, and creates a trust between us. Those conversations are dear to me, professionally and personally. I have learned so much from my clients over the years, as they have enriched my understanding of the world. I hope, in some manner, each person knows how much I appreciate them.
Education and Experience
I grew up in Edmonton and attended the University of Alberta, where I was awarded a B.Sc. and a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Dental school provided a solid foundational knowledge of the science and practice of oral healthcare.
However, dentistry is a constantly evolving field. Ongoing research leads to new methodologies, materials, and technologies. These changes improve diagnostics and treatment planning, make procedures more comfortable, and deliver better results.
Over the years I have participated in a wide range of continuing education, to stay abreast of the latest practices. In addition to general dentistry, I have completed numerous courses in dental implants and Invisalign® clear aligner therapy. I especially enjoy learning the best ways to approach more complex treatment for patients with multiple dental issues.
I am a member of the Spear Restorative Study Group, as well as the:
- Canadian Dental Association
- Alberta Dental Association
- Edmonton District Dental Society
These professional organizations enable me to learn from the leaders in dentistry and ensure I am able to incorporate the best new options into the practice.
Outside the office, I like to stay active: golfing, skiing, hockey, water sports, and fitness in general take up a good bit of my free time. I am a music buff as well, and enjoy playing the drums in an 80s band.
